Personalized Learning: Online and On-site for College Success

Aspirnauts have access to state-of-the-art online courses and other advanced educational materials designed to accelerate their learning in math and science. In addition, our college guidance program helps parents, teachers, and students navigate the college application and financial aid path.

A personalized path is designed for each student in order to maximize opportunities for Advanced Placement courses and college preparation.

Accredited Online Courses from Aventa Learning
Powerful online courses offer students all the resources they need in order to excel including an online teacher with whom the student can communicate in many different ways: email, voice, and Elluminate white-board technology that allows the teacher to visually interact using diagrams and drawings. Courses are accredited by several major national organizations.

BrainPop

BrainPop, Indian Math Online, and Other Online Resources
Although many web sites offer various math and science games and content which students often explore on the bus, few keep track of student progress. Indian Math Online and BrainPop offer progressive tests and quizzes to evaluate a student's achievement over time and allows us to personalize a specific student's curriculum to improve their performance. Both have supported Aspirnaut with subscriptions to their content, which Aspirnauts have empirically enjoyed and benefited from.
College Guidance
Despite overcoming many of the challenges rural and minority students face along their educational pathway, high achieving students face a final obstacle to college access: understanding how to successfully make their way through the intimidating college application and financial aid process. In collaboration with Vanderbilt's admissions department and school districts, visits with students by a team of admissions and financial aid staff will occur onsite annually at rural schools early in seventh grade and will increase in frequency as students progress through their educational careers to help create, through activities and education, the vision of the possibility of being able to attend a college or university upon graduation from high school.
